Role Name: Volunteer Transportation Driver
Date/Time: Based on flexible schedule
Location: Dallas Hope Center, Dallas, TX 75228
Located West of White Rock Lake. For the safety and privacy of our residents, the address will be provided upon assignment approval.
Summary: As a Volunteer Transportation Driver, you will provide safe and reliable transportation for young adults, ages 18-24 to and from the Hope Center. We are looking for responsible, punctual individuals who are passionate about making a difference in young adults' lives.
Requirements: The driver will ensure the safety and well-being of the residents during transport based on the guidelines provided by Dallas Hope Charities.
- Comfortable interacting and teaching young adults, ages 18-24, in small group settings
- Create a supportive and positive group environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
- Training will be provided to help ensure alignment with DHC’s values and approach.
- Identify with the LGBTQIA+ community -OR- be a strong ally of the LGBTQIA+ community.
- Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by the residents of the Hope Center.
- Obey all traffic laws and maintain vehicle cleanliness and mechanical safety.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and refuel the vehicle as needed.
- Create a safe environment by enforcing safety rules and assisting residents.
Qualifications:
- Valid regular driver's license held continuously for the past three years.
- Age requirement of 21-80 years, with additional documentation if over 75.
- Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or violations in the past five years.
- Complete and pass a background check and required drug/alcohol testing.
Dress Code: comfortable clothing, closed-toed shoes, blue Hope Dealer shirt
