Hope Dealer Shift: Bilingual Event Support

Time: Volunteer Check-In 5:00 PM, Shift 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Location: Union Coffee Lawn, 3705 Cedar Springs Rd, Dallas, TX 75219

Summary: Serve as a welcoming presence for Spanish-speaking attendees and assist with guest support throughout the vigil. You’ll help translate simple information, distribute materials, and contribute to creating a peaceful, inclusive atmosphere for all.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with event setup and signage

• Greet and support Spanish-speaking attendees

• Distribute candles, handouts, and event materials

• Offer basic translation or guidance as needed

• Help with post-event clean-up
  
  

Requirements:

• Fluent in both Spanish and English

• Friendly, approachable presence

• Comfortable standing, walking, and lifting up to 20 lbs

• Able to work sensitively in emotionally charged environments
  
  

Dress Code: Blue DHC t-shirt (provided if needed), comfortable and respectful clothing, closed-toed shoes

Parking: Free but limited parking is available in front of Union and in the Windsor parking garage’s bottom level. Carpooling or ride-share is encouraged.

Cancelations: If you’re unable to attend your shift, please notify your lead contact as early as possible.

Volunteer Check-In / Out:

• Check-In: Please arrive by 5:00 PM to receive your assignment and assist with setup before guests arrive.

• Shift Timeframe: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM. This includes setup, event support, and clean-up.

• Check-Out: Check out with your lead before leaving. Volunteers are asked to exit the event area after their shift ends to maintain space and calm for the conclusion of the vigil.
