Summary:
Dallas Hope Charities is celebrating 10 years of providing shelter, stability, and HOPE FOR ALL to LGBTQIA+ youth in North Texas! We are hosting a casual, high-energy Backyard BBQ Birthday Bash at Union Coffee, and we need an enthusiastic general support crew to help bring it to life. Volunteers will be placed into one of the following crucial roles closer to the event day:

Setup Crew: Help transform the space into a festive backyard cookout (tables, banners, games).

Greeters & Ticketing: Welcome guests with high energy, assist with the guest check-in process, and help orient attendees as they arrive.

Minglers & Activity Support: Assist guests with the BBQ line, facilitate backyard games, and keep the venue tidy.

Teardown Crew: Help pack up equipment, collect materials, and restore the venue post-event.
Requirements:

Friendly, community-minded attitude and a willingness to step in where needed.

Setup/Teardown: Comfortable with light lifting and moving supplies (up to 25 lbs).

Greeters/Minglers: Comfortable standing for the duration of the shift.
Dress Code:
All volunteers are required to wear a DHC Hope Dealer t-shirt and comfortable, closed-toe shoes. If you are new to serving with us, a volunteer t-shirt will be provided for you at check-in!

Parking:
Limited parking is available at Union Coffee. Neighboring street parking and paid lots are nearby; ride-share or carpooling is highly encouraged.
Waiver Requirement:
All Hope Dealers are required to have a signed Release of Liability Agreement and have read the Hope Dealer Handbook prior to volunteering.
Qualifications Required
- Hope Dealer Handbook Must be I have read and ACCEPT all terms & condition within the Hope Dealer Handbook.
- Release of Liability Agreement Must be Signed
- LGBTQ in the Workplace: Gender Identity vs. Sexual Orientation Must be Completed
- Introduction to Unconscious Bias Must be Completed
- Address Your Unconscious Biases Must be Completed
- Respect Ethnic & Racial Differences Must be Completed
