Internship Program - Marketing and Branding Internship (HYBRID)

Reports To: Manager of Marketing & Operations

Hours: 12-24 hrs per week

Hybrid Work Environment: In-person (75235 zip code area) majority, with opportunities for remote/WFH.  Must be able to work a 4-hour to 8-hour shift between 9am to 5pm CST. 

Compensation: Upon completion of the internships, interns will receive a certificate of completion, a letter of recommendation (upon request), and any academic credits being awarded by your university.

Summary:

Dallas Hope Charities is seeking an innovative, think-outside-the-box creative that wants to elevate our visuals while maintaining/improving our current brand standards.

As a Marketing & Branding Intern, you will collaborate with our Manager of Marketing and Operations in all stages of marketing development. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand and maintain our marketing & branding department.

This internship will help you acquire work experience within the nonprofit field. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in marketing and branding, and should be prepared to enter any fast paced work environment.

Learn:

  • Achieving the business goal of elevating the awareness of the brand’s campaigns, promotions, and overall company story.

  • Working alongside the marketing team and cross-functional departments, you will work on various projects, developing and enhancing your industry knowledge, marketing interests, skill, and organizational experience.

General responsibilities may include (but not limited to):

  • Assist with brand campaigns, seasonal promotions, and event launches.

  • Participate in weekly status meetings and brainstorming sessions.

  • Create and maintain media lists and help support project management.

  • Assist with marketing/PR event logistics and execution.

  • Support with research and analysis across campaigns.

  • Attend cross-departmental and cross-functional meetings.

  • Social Media Coordination. Responsible for coordinating social media efforts for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn. This includes developing content for our social media platforms, scheduling content, and updating / analyzing reports.

  • Website Updates. Responsible for coordinating and/or executing website updates to reflect latest assets. Writing website content for search engine optimization. 

  • Email Communications. Responsible for varying communications via Mail Chimp and Better Impact email platforms. This requires communication across various departments/programs, compiling of updates, executing creative updates, acquiring required approvals, and distribution.

  • Marketing Asset Creation. Responsible for assisting with marketing asset updates and/or creation. Requires creative skills and ability to communicate and coordinate efforts across multiple departments. Assets could include flyers, slide deck templates in Canva, social media posts, etc.

  • Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned based on department priorities.

Qualifications:

  • College junior or senior currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s (BS) degree program or higher for one of the following:

  • Advertising

  • Communications

  • Marketing

  • Journalism and/or Public Relations a plus.

  • LGBTQIA+ Community Affirming

  • Strong ability to maintain and enhance department standards.

  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive

  • Strong work ethic combined with positive attitude

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be self-motivated, driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Ability to identify and execute department needs.

  • Ability to take constructive feedback and apply it to the projects requested.

Software Experience: G Suite (Mail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. 

Physical Demands:
Some duties may require the ability to bend, twist, reach, carry, lift, pull, or push between 1 – 25 lbs. This position also requires standing, sitting, and the use of a computer, specifically for typing and graphic design tasks, for extended periods of time. Accommodations can be made upon request.
