Summary:

Join Dallas Hope Charities for our Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week Day of Service! As part of our theme, "We’re in this Together," we are partnering with Mati-X to distribute quality essentials to support individuals navigating instability. Volunteers will be crucial in providing onsite support, distributing resources, and ensuring guests feel welcomed and supported. This is a powerful opportunity to take collective action toward ending homelessness in our community, as well as connect with the community in a meaningful and sustainable way. 

Volunteer Roles

Volunteers will be representing Dallas Hope Charities while supporting Mati-X's community event. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting Mati-X with event support (setup, teardown, and resource distribution).

  • Representing Dallas Hope Charities and distributing DHC-specific resources (worthy bags and cold weather items like blankets, mittens, scarves, etc.

Special Volunteer Experience

  • Mati-X will have four featured chefs at this event serving handcrafted tapas exclusively to volunteers! 

Requirements

  • Comfortable engaging with community members
  • Able to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Able to lift minimum of 25lbs. 

Dress Code: Blue DHC T-Shirt (one will be provided at volunteer check-in if you do not have one), comfortable pants or jeans, and closed toed shoes.

Additional Info

Check-In/Out: Please arrive 15 minutes before your shift begins to check in with the DHC staff lead and receive instructions.

Cancellations: If you are unable to attend your shift, please notify your volunteer lead as soon as possible.

Liability Waiver: All volunteers must complete the volunteer agreement prior to any volunteer activity. If you have not completed one, please sign the document HERE and add it to your profile under "additional information".
