Classroom Support - Literacy Reading Support
Volunteers will work one on one with K-2 students to help them improve their reading skills using the following methods:
- Listen to students read and reread books that are at the child’s individual reading level
- Assist students in learning to recognize, and possibly write age appropriate sight words
- Assist students in re-teaching phonics skills
By practicng their skills, the students will increase their fluency and comprehension, which will help them feel more confident in their reading ability. Training provided.
