Eyes Ears Nose and Paws

These are entered as split shifts AM & PM transport: Caswell pick-up, and as a Caswell drop-off. If you're able to do both shifts that would be amazing but we are fine with a volunteer only taking one leg of the trip if that works best for you! 

Pick up four dogs from our ABEL program at Caswell Correctional Center and take the dogs to a health clinic at the Durham Kennel Club. Wait 15-30 minutes for the dogs to get radiographs and then return the dogs to ABEL (it will likely take less than 30 minutes but could take up to that long). You do not enter the prison -- a facility staff member will meet you in the parking lot or at the gatehouse to switch dogs and supplies.

This is entered as two shifts, one picking up at the prison and one dropping off, but it will be easiest if the same person is able to do both shifts. The second shift could get pushed a little later if the first shift is running late.

AM Transport Shift
2:45pm: Pick up at Caswell Correctional Center: 444 Country Home Rd, Blanch, NC
3:45 pm: Arrive Health Clinic: Durham Kennel Club, 7318 Guess Rd, Durham, NC 27712

PM Transport Shift
4:15-4:30 pm:Arrive Health Clinic for pick-up: Durham Kennel Club, 7318 Guess Rd, Durham, NC 27712
5-5:30pm: Return to Caswell Correctional Center: 444 Country Home Rd, Blanch, NC

• An EENP vehicle is available for use for this transport but please let us know when you sign up if you would like to use it so we can have it ready.
• Volunteer doing transport will need to pass the Canine Care & Safety quiz if not already qualified. The quiz is not difficult!
