Eyes Ears Nose and Paws

Our youngest puppies come into our facility Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays for their first 8 weeks in training. We have one puppy (plus adult dogs) in the office on these days until December then will have new groups of puppies starting early December, mid-January, and late February. 

Training Room Helpers work in our training room to assist with puppy school, chores, and facility maintenance when we have a large group of puppies in the office. Regular helpers may also have the opportunity to help with advanced training with our older dogs.

Each day will vary depending on what's needed but could include:

• Helping set up the space for the day or put things away at the end of the day
• Getting puppies safely inside when they arrive
• Wrangling puppies, taking them on walks, and helping with basic training
• Assisting our dog trainer with advanced training exercises
• Helping tidy and clean up the work space or the facility (dishes, lawn mowing, watering the plants)
• Preparing training treats like frozen kongs and puppy ice

Tuesday morning shifts will head out at 9 am on field trips most weeks, often to Southpoint Mall. Helpers for those shifts should expect to be out of the office for most of their shift and be comfortable traveling in a car driven by someone else. Minors on these shifts will need to have parents check in with us before signing up.

Come dressed in layers appropriate for the weather so you can work comfortably indoors or outdoors.

No qualifications are needed, but minors must either be accompanied by an adult or be able to work independently and follow direction well. Shifts will be manually assigned with a preference for helpers who sign up for more shifts and show initiative when working. Assistants who come regularly are able to learn more skills and work independently. That's a huge help to us!
