*Flower Piano 2026 - Garden Greeter

Join us as a Flower Piano Garden Greeter! Welcome visitors for our beloved annual event, Flower Piano. Your presence as the Garden Greeter helps set the tone for every visitor's experience and makes our Gardens feel welcoming to all.
This volunteer role helps create a smooth threshold experience in the Botanical Garden for Flower Piano. Familiarity with the Gardens of Golden Gate Park and the surrounding area will help with common visitor questions.
As a Garden Greeter, you will:
- Provide a warm welcome to guests
- Help visitors find the correct path to begin their Flower Piano experience, including wayfinding directions to the correct line, helping visitors identify the appropriate proof of membership, residency or other applicable cards to gain entry efficiently
- Share your enthusiasm for Flower Piano and Garden etiquette such as advising visitors to stay on the paths, and that wind can carry debris away easily so disposing trash properly is a necessity.
- Invite visitors to continue to support/connect with the Garden by volunteering, becoming a member or donating (share applicable QR codes or direct visitors to a nearby donation box).
- To successfully help visitors in this role, you may be positioned anywhere along the admission lines to enter the Gardens and help with placing wristbands, review proof of membership or move up and down the line of visitors to make sure they have the information that they need to find the correct line.
About You: As a volunteer of the Gardens of Golden Gate Park, you enjoy connecting people to plants, the planet, and each other. Garden Gate Greeters actively welcome visitors and help them as they identify the correct route for them as they enter the Botanical Garden for Flower Piano. Your presence helps set the tone for every guest’s experience to make our Gardens feel welcoming to all.
Location: Entrances/exits of the Botanical Garden. Examples include: Flower Piano Lounge Gate, Main Gate, and Friend (North) Gate.
Staff Contact: Drew Risner-Davis, Visitor Experience Manager
