Join special guest, National Parks Ranger Adrian Boone from Muir Woods for a Welcome to the Grove talk in the San Francisco Botanical Garden. Ranger Adrian will share his insights about Redwoods as a steward of Muir Woods then dive in deeper by sharing some of his favorite hands-on tools to engage visitors. Whether you are a Rover, a Tour leader, or a new volunteer, you're welcome to join!

During this training you will experience:

• Welcome to the Redwood Grove Talk to learn more about Redwoods and what makes them so special. [approx. 20 min]
• Hands-on Materials Time to experience the wonder that hands-on materials inspire and how you can use them to engage with visitors as a Rover, during a Tour (for trained docents), or at a station (for trained interpretive volunteers) [up to 1 hour]
• Rover 101 with Director of Education Annette Huddle for those who have not yet had a chance to complete a Rover training or are looking for a refresher [approx. 40 minutes]

Training requirements: Volunteers selecting this training option should anticipate using content covered in this training as a Botanical Garden Rover or Docent or Interpretive Volunteer from May - August this year, 3-6 times. For new volunteers seeking to complete the Rover training certification, completing the New Volunteer Training or 4 or more volunteer assignments is recommended, if you have not completed this but are still interested in becoming a Rover, please contact Senior Volunteer Program Manager Crystal Lee Stone, clstone@gggp.org.
