General Event Information

All casino's in Alberta take part in the charitable gaming initiative, where charities are chosen to receive funding from casinos as a portion of their regular profits. RMA is has been selected as the recipient charity of Cash Casino in Calgary on October 6 and 7. Being part of a Casino fundraiser can provide substantial funds for RMA, with total funding between $25,000 - $35,000! In order to receive funds, we are required to fill certain volunteer shifts over a 2 day period. 

Volunteer roles are a fun opportunity that allow you to see behind-the-scenes of how a Casino operates! Roles will involve simple, often repetitive tasks. There may be very busy periods and quieter periods. Volunteers are required to stay at their position for the duration of the shift (aside from bathroom breaks).

All roles are managed by third party advisors who will go through all training you will need, and clearly outline each role to make sure volunteers feel comfortable.

Volunteers must be minimum 18 years old. Volunteers may complete up to 2 shifts over the 2 day period, and they must be in the same role.

• Location: Cash Casino (4040 Blackfoot Trail SE, Calgary)
• What to Wear/Bring: Comfortable clothing, water bottle
• What's Provided: Training for all roles. Meals, drinks, and snacks. Travel and hotel expenses for volunteers coming from further afield will also be covered.

Role-Specific Information

The Banker supervises the cash cage, and is responsible for the chip runners and cashiers. Specific duties include:

• receives and counts opening cash bankroll and chip inventory
• documents all incoming and outgoing chip and cash transactions throughout the shift
• monitors Casino's tracking system for chip and cash requests
• counts all cash and chips at the end of the day
• ensures cashiers maintain responsibility for all cash during their shift
