Nordic (Cross Country) Skiing and Biathlon - Biathlon Program
General Program Information
The Biathlon Program runs on Wednesday evenings for 1.5 hour. The program is led by RMA instructors, in partnership with with funding from Biathlon Canada through the Community Sport for All Initiative. This program focuses solely on classic nordic skiing and biathlon shooting.
Participants vary in age and ability. They may be in any of the adaptive ski disciplines (sit skiing, stand-up skiing) and have physical and/or neurodivergent challenges.
This Opportunity
This opportunity is not for a specific participant. Instructors will assess where the highest volunteer need is and communicate roles to volunteers on the day. Depending on the balance of participants, staff, and volunteers, we may need to switch you to a different role. If this is the case, we will ask you first. If you are not comfortable doing so, please let us know.
- Location: Canmore Nordic Centre
- What to Wear/Bring: Weather-appropriate layers of clothing, all personal equipment, pass (if you have one), water, nut-free snacks/lunch, and anything else you would like for a day of skiing.
- What’s Provided: Vest (to be identified as an RMA volunteer), day ticket (if you do not have a pass).
