HIV Lab

The HIV LAB is the engine of our diagnostic process. Volunteers in this role work behind the scenes to ensure that every test is processed with accuracy. Because of the technical nature of this work and the health regulations involved, this role requires clinic-based certification.

What You’ll Do:

  • Process HIV tests according to strict clinical and state protocols.
  • Maintain a sterile and organized laboratory environment.
  • Handle sensitive biological samples with extreme care and precision.

Special requirements?

You must be trained and certified by the Clinic Manager. Training is hosted at the clinic roughly every three months. If you are a new volunteer, we recommend starting at a Check-in Desk or as a Counselor while waiting for the next cross-training opportunity to become certified for the lab.
