Peer Helper - Campus Food Hub

The Campus Food Hub is seeking Peer Helpers who are eager to develop their leadership skills through a meaningful volunteer experience. As a Peer Helper, you will play an important leadership role within one of our weekly programs, helping to create a welcoming, inclusive environment and supporting volunteers in carrying out the tasks required to deliver successful programming. Peer Helpers lead by example, modeling best practices, upholding food safety and operational procedures, and helping volunteers build confidence in their roles. Through hands-on involvement in food preparation, customer service, program support, and daily operations, Peer Helpers gain valuable experience in leadership, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and community engagement. The Campus Food Hub strives to be a supportive space where students can access good food, build positive relationships with food, and connect with campus resources. This role also provides an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of food security issues affecting UCalgary students while making a meaningful contribution to student well-being. Peer Helpers receive comprehensive training, ongoing mentorship, and support from Campus Food Hub staff to help them succeed and grow throughout their experience.
