Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) exists so nobody in Scotland suffers or dies because medical help cannot get there in time. People can get sick or have accidents anywhere and anytime. But in Scotland there are places where urgent medical help cannot reach people. Or help gets there too late. And when lives are at risk every minute matters.

Our fundraising volunteers are a vital part of team SCAA, raising life saving funds and awareness in communities all over Scotland.

As our Volunteer Mascot or Minder, you’ll bring joy and energy to events and talks as Nevis or Whirly. Our mascots are always a crowd favourite,  creating smiles, posing for photos, and even showing off a dance move or two! As our mascots, you get to be the star, while your minder keeps you safe and helps you interact with the public.

What you’ll do

  • Mascots: Become Nevis or Whirly wave, dance, pose for photos, and bring fun to every event (with regular breaks to keep you comfy).
  • Minders: Be our mascot's voice and guide, chatting with the public, sharing information, and ensuring the mascot's safety. Minders will often have a fundraising bucket.
  • Talk about SCAA’s life-saving work across Scotland.
