Event Volunteer

Time: 4-8 hours. We typically split shifts into ½ day and full day.
Other: Ability to travel to remote/rural areas.
Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) exists so nobody in Scotland suffers or dies because medical help cannot get there in time. People can get sick or have accidents anywhere and anytime. But in Scotland there are places where urgent medical help cannot reach people. Or help gets there too late. And when lives are at risk every minute matters.
Our fundraising volunteers are a vital part of team SCAA, raising life saving funds and awareness in communities all over Scotland.
As an Events Volunteer, you’ll attend small or large events helping us host our SCAA stand. Our fundraising stands include merchandise, info and popular activities such as hook a duck and Plinko!
- Work as a team to set up/dismantle our stand and gazebo.
- Our events are usually outdoors, so please wrap up warm and wear suitable footwear.
- Speak to guests about SCAA and our latest news. You’ll often meet our supporters and past patients, including their families and friends.
- Handle cash and card payments for merchandise and donations.
- Some events may include marshalling car parks, or driving our SCAA buggies. If interested, ask us for more details.
- Punctual & organised.
- Friendly and keen to chat with our lovely visitors.
- Happy to work as a team.
- Reasonable levels of fitness. Events require a longer period of standing and walking.
- Training and support from a dedicated staff member.
- Reasonable out of pocket expenses in line with our expense policy eg travel & lunch if volunteering all day.
- Build confidence and develop new and existing skills.
- Meet lovely people and join our supportive volunteer team.
- Enjoy volunteer socials, celebration events, and our private Facebook group.
