Loon Lake Health Centre - Recreation Associate

Loon Lake Continuing Care Program Assist the Rec liaison is delivering rec activities. Games, crafts and supervised outdoor walks. Assist with birthday and holiday themed parties.

 

Times available :  Monday - Sunday  mornings and afternoons 

Loon Lake Health Centre & LTC - Pet Entertainment Provider

The goals of pet visitation programs are to provide opportunities for patients to reach and maintain their optimal level of physical and mental functioning; to maintain or re-establish interests, social contacts and dignity, to alleviate anxiety and redirect attention from their own condition and try to provide an outlet for emotion; and to provide structured, meaningful daily activity.

Shifts available Monday to Sunday, morning afternoons.

 

Loon Lake Health Centre and LTC - Recreation Assocaite

The Recreation Associate assists with various activities at the site. They encourage client's participation in activities. 

Recreation Associate are the extra pair of "helping hands" that add to the trained services of the Long-term care facility staff, working together to enhance the lives of residents

Activities include, but are not limited to:  Reading groups, puzzles, games, bingo, nail painting, going for walks, group painting, crafts, exercise programs, and special events like Christmas parties and teas. Birthday parties, volunteer group outings.

Times available :  Monday to Sunday, mornings and afternoons 

Meals on Wheels Associate - Various locations

 

Meals on Wheels Volunteers deliver nutritious meals to clients assessed as needing support with nutrition.

Locations available :  Meadow Lake, Goodsoil, Loon Lake 

 

Personal accomplishment, develop and enhance communication skills, learn new job skills & obtain a work routine, being involved & giving back to community.

 

Volunteer picks up meals at given time from the outlet and delivers to client in their home. 

 

Shifts vary, delivery over lunch time hours. 

Northwest Community Lodge - Recreation Program Associate

 

Program Assist Assist the Rec staff in the delivering of the rec activities. Games, crafts and accompanied walks. Birthday celebrations and other holidays.

Shifts times :  Monday - Friday  9:00 -11:00 am and 1:30 - 3:30 pm 

Northwest Community Lodge (Meadow Lake Hospital) - Entertainment Provider

Provider volunteers provide mental, social, emotional, and physical stimulation to residents
Group choirs, bands, individual piano players, piano/guitar recitals, performances, dance groups, school entertainment, old time dancing groups, hymn sing, story tellers.
 
Shifts Monday to Friday:  9:00 - 11:00 am and 1:30 -3:30 pm 

Northwest Community Lodge - Pet Entertainment Provider

To enhance the resident's quality of life by providing entertainment in the form of a demonstration, show or petting zoo.  Volunteers must ensure the animals are under control and/or contained at all times.
 
Provider volunteers provide mental, social, emotional, and physical stimulation to residents

Shift times are Monday to Friday  10 am - 11 am,  and 2 pm - 3 pm 

 

L. Gervais Memorial Health Centre ( Goodsoil) - Entertainment Provider

Provider volunteers provide mental, social, emotional, and physical stimulation to residents
Group choirs, bands, individual piano players, piano/guitar recitals, performances, dance groups, school entertainment, old time dancing groups, hymn sing, story tellers.
 
Shifts vary dependent upon group availability:  

Meadow Lake Hospital -Horticulture Associate

The Horticulture Associate will be able to bring joy to residents. They will share talents in garden, visit with elders of the community and improve the resident's outdoor experience

They assist residents in caring for the outdoor space we have during our Spring/summer/ fall season.

Duties may include:  Watering, feed, transplant plants, weed plant beds, trim/prune plants as required, maintain tidiness in garden area.

Shifts available :  Monday - Friday  9-11 am  and 1 pm to 4 pm

Shifts available: Monday - Friday  9-11 am  or  1-4 pm 

Meadow Lake Hospital - Recreation Associate 1-1

The Recreation Associate assists with various activities at the site. They encourage client's participation in activities. 

Recreation Associate are the extra pair of "helping hands" that add to the trained services of the Long-term care facility staff, working together to enhance the lives of residents

This position would provide companionship to patients who would enjoy the extra time spent with them as loneliness is evident with some patients. Assist staff with recreation programing as necessary. This position will develop meaningful relationships, improved sense of well-being and share skills and abilities.

Shifts available :  Monday - Friday   9am - 11am.  1pm - 4 pm 

Recreation Associate

Loon Lake Health Centre - Youth Ambassador

An Ambassador Volunteer has supervised interaction/access to vulnerable people or populations. Staff liaison will be there for continuous support and guidance. Access to confidential information will only be provided if pertinent to their role. Volunteers will work in a public, non-private setting(s) and/or spaces with high visibility. For example: activity room, dining rooms, or outdoor patio areas etc.

Youth will work alongside the rec staff to assist with small groups, help with coffee, sanitizing entertainment equipment, seasonal decorating, walks with ambulatory and w/c residents, musical entertainment, visiting, playing games.

Shifts available   Monday - Thursday  mornings and afternoons.
