Grab your walking shoes and join Northside Greenspace for one of our seasonal nature walks!

Sunday, Jan 11 1pm - 2:30pm Winter Woodland Walk (Buttercup Valley) 

• Winter is a great time to explore the interesting topography of Buttercup Valley and will also afford us an opportunity to work on our winter tree identification skills.  

Sunday, April 12 1pm - 2:30pm Spring Wildflower Walk (Buttercup Valley, Stanford trailhead)

• Spring ephemeral wildflowers will be a highlight of this hike, as we explore the rich, mature forest of Buttercup Valley Nature Preserve

 

Sunday, June 14 noon - 2pm Northside Native Gardens Walk (Heart of Northside, 4222 Hamilton Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45223) 

• For our summer walk this year we're trying something a bit different! We will walk a route through the side streets of Northside, viewing front yards and gardens that feature native plants and chatting with their owners. Sunday, Oct 25 1pm - 2:30pm Fall Woodland Walk (Greeno Woods, rear parking lot at Aiken High School) 

• For this walk we will explore Greeno Woods, a lesser-known preserve in the greater Northside area. The terrain is steeper here, so this will be more akin to a hike. Come prepared! 

• We will meet in the rear/lower parking lot behind Aiken High School, by the Urban Farm and athletic field. Please note: this meeting location is on private property. • Meet at the Parks kiosk at the end of Badgley Street
• Optional route up the Quarry Street trail

For these hikes we recommend sturdy walking shoes or boots and remember to dress appropriately for the weather. A day pack with a reusable water bottle can be handy. Please note, there are no restroom facilities on site at Badgley Run. Also, we love our furry friends but for the comfort of all hikers please leave your pets at home for these hikes.
