Volunteer Librarian New Opportunity!
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated volunteer librarian to assist in operating Cincinnati Park's Library. As a volunteer librarian, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including organizing and cataloging new materials, assisting staff and citizens with research, and maintaining library existing catalogs.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of library operations and procedures preferred, but not required.
- Experience with archives management and cataloging is a plus, but not required.
- Our library uses an EndNote Library catalog system, experience with EndNote is a plus.
- General Organizational Skills.
Time Commitment: We ask for a commitment of at least 3 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months.
This time is flexible but would mostly have to be during business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM,
Cincinnati Parks Archives Library is located at Bettman Natural Resource Center. The library houses all historical documents including original renderings from the Kessler Plans, board meeting minutes from the inaugural Park Board of Commissioners and to date.
Our Archive Librarian works on Tuesdays to maintain the archives, support the public who have an interest in the library, and research projects.
