Position Title: Volunteer Visitor for Seniors
Purpose:
To provide companionship, social interaction, and emotional support to senior citizens, helping to reduce their sense of isolation and enhance their quality of life.
Responsibilities:

Regular Visits: Commit to visiting assigned seniors on a regular basis (e.g., weekly).

Engagement: Engage in meaningful conversations and recreational activities such as playing cards, having coffee, or going for walks.

Emotional Support: Offer a listening ear and emotional support.

Observation: Observe and report any concerns or changes in the senior’s health or behavior to the program coordinator.

Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of the seniors.

Wellbeing Checks: Provide wellbeing checks during visits to ensure the senior is doing well.
Qualifications:

Friendly, dependable, and compassionate.

Good listening and communication skills.

Ability to relate to people in a warm and friendly manner.

Reliable and able to commit to a regular visiting schedule.

Volunteers must be able to tolerate differing opinions and lifestyles.

Time Commitment:
Visits typically last 1-2 hours. A commitment of at least six months is desired.
