Position Title: Recreation Assistant

Purpose:
To assist in organizing and leading recreational activities, ensuring participants have a safe, enjoyable, and engaging experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Activity Support: Help plan, set up, and lead recreational activities such as sports, games, arts and crafts, and special events.
2. Supervision: Supervise participants during activities to ensure safety and adherence to rules.
3. Facility Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and preparing facilities and equipment for use, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met.
4. Participant Assistance: Provide support to participants, including those with special needs, to ensure they can fully engage in activities.
5. Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties such as keeping records of attendance, equipment inventory, and incident reports.
6. Customer Service: Provide information to participants and the public about recreational programs and schedules.
7. Conflict Resolution: Address any concerns or complaints from participants and resolve issues as they arise.

Qualifications:

• Enthusiastic, friendly, and patient.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Reliable and able to commit to a regular schedule.
• Previous experience in a similar role is a plus but not required.

Time Commitment:
Flexible hours, typically part-time. Mostly weekday schedules peak work hours 9am - 4pm. Evening and weekend shifts may be available.

Training:
Orientation and occasional training sessions provided to familiarize with program protocols and safety procedures.
