Volunteers will have a sense of fulfillment and purpose by providing support for a variety of programs that stimulate the mental, social, emotional, and physical well-being of the patients & clients within acute care
Associate volunteer positions are relational in nature and provide value added care for clients and patients through meaningful engagement and service. This role is more independent where the volunteers have a central point of contact but may conduct their volunteer service independently. Interactions occur in areas with limited visibility or infrequent supervision by a paid employee or senior volunteer.
Age requirement: Minimum 18 years old
Shifts available (based on vacancies available): Monday to Friday 7:00am - 11:00am
Animals have been found to benefit people socially, psychologically, and physiologically. The goals of pet visitation programs are to provide opportunities for patients to reach and maintain their optimal level of physical and mental functioning; to maintain or re-establish interests, social contacts and dignity, to alleviate anxiety and redirect attention from their own condition and try to provide an outlet for emotion; and to provide structured, meaningful daily activity.
You must be the owner of the dog and the dog must be certified and temperament tested by a Certified Pet Dog Trainer or by St. John’s Ambulance. They will be placed in areas according to their certification level.
Shifts available : Mornings and afternoons Monday - Friday
Commitment: 30 hours within 6 months

Shifts available : Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. 7:00am - 10:00am or 1230pm - 2:00pm
- visit patients one to one after they have received an ostomy
- help the person living with an ostomy renew self confidence as an individual
- bolster their morale
- help the patient with their emotional and social rehabilitation
- offer reassurance, understanding and practical information
Volunteer Applicant must have been living with an ostomy for a minimum of 6 months.
Volunteers are required to complete the National Visitor Training Program. This training is provided by The Regina and District Ostomy Society.
Shifts are casual dependent upon need. Monday - Sunday mornings afternoons and evenings
To provide the Pasqua Hospital Nursing Units with volunteers who will contribute to clients and their caregiver’s well-being through companionship and diversional activities.
Offer opportunities for diversional interactive activities such as visiting, reading, going for walks, playing games - Provide emotional support and comfort through such activities as visiting/socializing
Provide periodic relief to families, caregivers and staff who are providing client care.
Various shifts available Monday to Sunday between the hours of 10:00am - 8:00pm
