Contact Centre Team - Volunteer Inbound Contact Centre Operators - Transport

Become a Volunteer in our Inbound Transport Centre

STAR Community Services is a not-for-profit organisation that provides a range of services to elderly and disabled people in the Redlands, South Brisbane region, Logan, Ipswich, Toowoomba, Warwick, and Gold Coast.

The Inbound Contact Centre Volunteers are STAR’s frontline – the first point of contact for all callers.

This is an excellent role for people with computer skills who enjoy working in a warm, friendly (and sometimes busy) team environment.

Role responsibilities include:

  • answering phones
  • handling enquiries
  • Booking trips for senior people
  • directing calls to the relevant team/staff member
  • data entry

Position requirements include:

  • previous call centre experience or phone experience (preferred but not essential)
  • strong communication and customer service skills
  • basic computer skills
  • able to recognise and respect the dignity, privacy, spiritual and cultural needs of clients
  • be able to volunteer at least one day per week
  • have a caring, compassionate nature
  • be able to participate in training
  • be over 18 years of age

All-Star Community Services staff and volunteers must obtain the following:

  • NDIS Workers' Screening Check (which includes a Police Check)
  • Current Flu vaccination

STAR will assist successful applicants with obtaining this. Full training is provided to volunteers.

STAR believes volunteering shouldn't leave you out of pocket. STAR reimburses volunteers for daily out-of-pocket expenses—$15 for ½ day ( four hours) or $30 for a full day (between seven and eight hours). This is a non-taxable reimbursement.

Please Note

  • This is a Centrelink-approved activity.
