Become a Volunteer Driver
The team at STAR Community Services are looking for drivers to join our Transport Team and support the vulnerable members of our community.
Our Drivers assist STAR in providing affordable door-to-door transport services to the elderly, frail, and people with disabilities.

Volunteer Drivers drive one of STAR's fleet vehicles and receive reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses—$15 for half a day (four hours) or $30 for a full day (between seven and eight hours).
Do you live, or can you travel to the following locations
- Redlands
- Ipswich
All we ask is
- You hold an open Drivers License.
- Comply with all provisions of Queensland's Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995.
- Have a 0.00% blood alcohol level while operating the vehicle
- Comply with all relevant organisational policies and procedures
- Be able to use a smart tablet for navigating purpose
- Be willing to undertake relevant training
- Undertake an NDIS Workers Screening Check (previously a Yellow Card), which includes a police check (No Cost to You)
- Have a current flu vaccination.
- Have or obtain through our training First Aid and CPR Certificates (no cost to you)
Please note
- Hours and days are flexible, but we ask that you commit to a minimum of three to six months.
- This is a Centrelink-approved activity.
