The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Texas City

The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Texas City has many opportunities available for qualified and vetted volunteers to help grow great futures for the children of Galveston County, including:
1. Transportation companions- accompany staff member picking up children from local schools for the afterschool program. Time: 2:30-4:30 Monday through Friday.
2. Serve after-school meal- the children are served a meal when they arrive at the club after school. Meals are pre-packaged. A volunteer is needed to set out the food, heat up any if necessary, pass the food and clean up afterwards. Time: approximately 3:30- 5:00 Monday through Friday
3. Homework Help- work with staff to provide one-on-one homework assistance in the afterschool program. Times could vary somewhat but generally would be between 4:30 and 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
4. Games Assistant- work with staff to supervise games/competitions. Times will vary but generally between 4:30 and 6:00, Monday through Friday.
5. Crafts Assistant- work with staff to supervise games/competitions. Times will var-y but generally between 4:30 and 6:00, Monday through Friday.
All volunteers must pass a strenuous background check and complete Safe from Harm training before beginning any activity with children.
