Emergency Response Team - Transport Assistant
When communities are hit by bushfires and other emergencies, getting essential supplies to pet owners quickly can make all the difference. Join our Emergency Supplies Transport Volunteer Team and play a crucial role in delivering food, water, bedding and other essentials to animals and their owners when they need it most.
This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who is comfortable behind the wheel, calm under pressure, and ready to step up when their community needs them.
What you'll be doing
- Safely transporting essential pet supplies including food, water, bedding and other essentials to designated evacuation centres in bushfire-affected communities
- Collecting orders and donations from suppliers, members of the public and businesses
- Sorting and moving donations to designated areas at our shelter
What we're looking for
- At least 18 years of age
- Current NSW C-Class driver's licence
- Comfortable driving a large van and potentially covering long distances
- Able to lift up to 20kg
- Excellent customer service skills
- Willing to sign our motor vehicle policy
- Willing to undergo a National Police Check via a third-party service
Time commitment
Emergencies can happen at any time. We're looking for people who are happy to join our on-call list and be contacted when needed as emergencies arise.
