As a reception/admin volunteer, you'll be the welcoming face of Tŷ Hafan, tackling a variety of exciting admin tasks and projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable office experience or to share your existing skills, all whilst supporting an important cause.

Considerations:
Location: Ty Hafan Children's Hospice, Hayes Road, Sully, CF64 5XX
Hours: Monday AM/PM, Thursday AM/Pm, Friday AM/PM
Age requirement: 18+
Background checks: we will ask you to provide us with 2 references and a basic DBS check is required for this role.
This role is perfect for someone who is friendly, approachable, enthusiastic and works well as part of a team.
Confidence speaking on the phone and using the pc/laptop are required for this role.
Activities include:
• Support the Facilities Team with essential admin tasks
• Organise and update files – both paper and digital
• Data entry to keep our records accurate
• Assist with audits and inventories at Head Office and the Hospice
• Help with project research and computer filing
• Welcome visitors by covering reception and greeting staff and visitors
• Answer calls and manage the entry barrier

As a charity, Tŷ Hafan organizes many fundraising events throughout the year and we are also represented at wider fundraising events across our communities.
These events include our very own Family Fun Day, sporting events, community bucket collections in exciting venues, and much more.
These events attract thousands of people who want to support our cause, but we also need people who can help us behind the scenes to make them happen!

By volunteering at an event, whether as a one-off or more regularly, you'll help us raise essential funds for children with life-shortening conditions and their families. You'll be making a huge difference.

About the role
This role will be based at our main Head Office in Sully. As a Volunteer Retail Administrator, you’ll form part of a team who support our 17 charity shops across Wales.
You’ll support our retail team across a wide range of activities.
This opportunity would suit someone who is looking to gain valuable office-based experience or someone who has office-based experience and is willing to provide their time to support our cause.

Location: Ty Hafan, Hayes Road, Sully, CF64 5XX
Age requirement: 18+
Schedule: Flexible between 9am-5pm, Monday or Thursday
Skills/ experience: We’re looking for a volunteer who has a good level of IT skills and a keen eye for detail. This role would ideally suit someone with previous experience in an administrative setting, whether through work or volunteering, who understands the importance of accuracy, particularly in a financial context.
While we’re looking for someone who can work to a high level of accuracy, we also recognise that this is a volunteer role. We value your time and commitment, and we’ll always aim to keep expectations reasonable and supportive.
As a volunteer, you could be involved in various activities depending on your preferences, skills and experience, these include:
• Photocopying, scanning and printing documents;
• Sorting through files and paperwork;
• Project work;
• Any other suitable ad-hoc administration tasks.

We’re on the lookout for a friendly and reliable volunteer to join our dynamic People Services Team as an administrator.
This role will be based at our main Head Office in Sully, assisting the People Services Team with a variety of both systems-based and general administration duties.
The People Services Department is made up of 3 functions: HR, Learning and Development and the Volunteering Team.

Location: Ty Hafan, Hayes Road, Sully, CF64 5XX (Head Office)
Age requirement: 18+
Schedule: Flexible between 9am-5pm, Weekdays
Background checks: 2 references and a Basic DBS check
A good level of IT skill is required for this role. An understanding of GDPR is also welcome, however, training will be provided.

• Updating HR systems – including our dual HR/Payroll system, recruitment system and Benefits platform
• Updating employee electronic files
• Updating/amending spread sheets and other information in Excel

Training you will receive:
You will be fully briefed by the Tŷ Hafan team and a full induction will be provided to include:
• Mandatory e-learning to include Safeguarding, Data Protection, Keeping Yourself Safe and Looking After Others
• In-person training to include GDPR
• Ad-hoc role specific training as required – including training on all relevant HR systems.
• All volunteers must complete their mandatory training to continue in their role.
