Do you have a big smile and enjoy helping others? If you would like to improve the patient experience for those attending the Ophthalmology Department, this could be the role for you! As a patient comfort volunteer, situated in the Eye Clinic, you will help lessen the anxiety and confusion that patients and families have upon arriving for an appointment at one of the 4 major clinic or surgery areas that support Ophthalmology.
Requirements:
- enjoy working morning hours
- friendly, reliable, tactful
- excellent English communication skills; other languages an asset
- physically able to walk or stand for full shift, and accompany patients via stairs or elevator to their desired location
- team player and able to work independently
- non-judgmental, flexible, self-initiative, patient
- well groomed
