Vice President (VP) of Outreach
 
General Description
The Vice President of Outreach is a new role on the 2026 PMI-LA Board of Directors established by the recently approved 2026 PMI-LA Bylaws.  Candidates apply first by completing the Self-Evaluation form screening for eligibility to serve on the Board of Directors, and, if determined eligible, next by filling out and submitting the Board of Directors Candidate Application.  The links to these documents are under the Nominations Page on the Chapter's website.  The 2026 Board of Directors will review all applications and decide the appointment to the position by a majority vote.
 
All candidates must be members in good standing of PMI-LA.
 
Purpose
To serve in the dual role of a member of the Board of Directors and the Vice President of Outreach of the management of the Chapter.
 
Bylaws 2026 Description
The Vice President of Community Outreach is responsible for:
  • Corporate outreach and maintain relationships for potential sponsorships
  •  Academic outreach and building student chapter organizations at partnering universities and colleges
  • Government Outreach to enhance PMI-LA Chapter’s presence and influence in the government sector
  • Military Outreach to research and meet the needs of chapter members in service, transitioning to civilian duties, and veterans.
 
Responsibilities/Accountabilities
As Member of the Board of Directors:
  • Uphold fiduciary, legal, and ethical governance responsibilities in accordance with PMI-LA Bylaws and applicable regulations.
  • Actively contributes to Board-level strategic planning, prioritization, and decision-making.
  • Serve as acting President, when required, ensuring continuity of leadership and operations.
  • Review, evaluate, and approve strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and outreach-related agreements with a focus on ROI, mission alignment, and long-term sustainability.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, transparency, and data-driven decision-making across the Chapter.
  • Provide thought leadership on external engagement trends, including workforce development, community partnerships, and industry alignment.
 
As Vice President of Outreach:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-sector outreach strategy aligned with PMI Global and PMI-LA strategic priorities.
  • Establish annual outreach goals and KPIs (e.g., partnership growth, sponsorship revenue, membership pipeline, student engagement, community impact).
  • Lead and integrate outreach across Corporate, Academic, Government, Military, and Nonprofit sectors, ensuring a unified value proposition and brand presence.
  • Build and sustain strategic partnerships that enhance chapter visibility, influence, and long-term value creation.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of high-impact outreach programs, including sponsorship programs, academic partnerships, workforce development initiatives, and community engagement events.
  • Drive membership growth and engagement pipelines, particularly from underrepresented and emerging communities.
  • Leverage data and insights to identify market opportunities, optimize outreach efforts, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Establish and monitor performance dashboards to track outreach effectiveness, reporting regularly to the Board.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Membership, Programs, and DEI to ensure cohesive execution of chapter initiatives.
  • Ensuring outreach efforts reflect PMI-LA’s commitment to health equity, DEI, and community impact (this aligns well with your leadership voice and priorities).
  • Develop and mentor outreach leaders, ensuring succession planning and leadership pipeline sustainability.
 
Policy Ownership
This Vice President position is a new position that has been created from the recent approval of the 2026 Bylaws. It is expected that the newly named VP of Outreach will create new Outreach policies, that may include the following:
  • PMI-LA Student Club Policy
  • PMI-LA Military Outreach Policy
  • PMI-LA Government Policy
  • PMI-LA Partnership Policy
  • And other Outreach policies to be determined as needed

  • Officer-level access to all Chapter websites (front-end and back-end), including the Office 365 site
