Networking Events Director and Project Managers
Summary: A Director to lead the planning, organizing and running of the PMI-LA Networking Events and volunteer PMs to help plan, organize, and run the Networking events at various locations in the LA area.
Duties:
- Participate in virtual team meetings and network event planning, including decisions re the type of event, and the date and location of the event
- Take the lead on various activities for the events such as:
- Securing venues for in-person events
- Familiarizing self with the technology for running a virtual event for those that are not in-person
- Preparing communication materials including event posting on the chapter website
- Procuring decorations and giveaways
- Determining who should be invited to the event
- Tracking registrations
- Providing support “day off” at the event
- Maintain all necessary documentation including:
- Project plans and schedules
- Presentation slides / decks
- Contribute to lessons learned post event
- Additional requirements as a member of the Membership team:
- Attend Membership team monthly meetings
- Attend Chapter events and continue engagement with current and potential volunteers
- Support the Membership department in other engagement activities, including volunteer events
- Participate in planning activities for the Membership department
Skills:
- "Internal facing" - organizing, tracking details, planning
- "External facing" - enjoy interacting with members
Estimated Time of Commitment: 1 to 3 hours per week remotely during planning and preparation phases; 2 to 4 hours at the event. May volunteer for one event or more. In addition, at least 1 hour a month for the Membership team meetings, and possibly some other time to help with the Volunteer events if needed.
Reports To: Networking Events Director to the VP of Membership; PMs to the Director
