VOLUNTEER OPENINGS - OPS: Strategic Team Project Managers

Role Description:

Do you love Strategy and working with a team of volunteers to narrow down and focus strategic ideas that map to the PMI-LA Strategic Plan into tactical ideas that will be followed up on and reported on a regular basis to the Board of Directors?  Can you bring out ideas from everyone, encourage participation, while moderating and keeping the team on track?  Do you want to test out new Strategic methods in a safe environment?  Operations team is looking for you!

 

Responsibilities - Annually:

  • Work with the Executive team to host a Strategic Planning Event with Board, Trustees, and Key Volunteers in July
  • Work with Incoming President to host a 1-2 days offsite in October/November (strategic Session is 1/2 day of that event) for the Incoming Board, Incoming  Trustees, and outgoing board if possible.
  • Work with new Incoming Board to host a December Planning Event with Board, Trustees, and Key Volunteers.
  • Strategic generation of Ideas from entire group in attendance
  • Narrowing down of Idea by Combining, Voting, to establish 3-5 focused initiatives for the chapter
  • Follow up with PMO and or responsible Board Member for agreed upon initiatives

  

Skills required:

  • Passion for learning the latest interactive Strategic technologies and techniques. 
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, self-starter environment.
  • Negotiator, Moderator, Project Manager

 

Expected Level Of Effort:

  • Minimum 25-50 hours per year – with additional time as needed. 

Notes:  Minimal training can be provided, need self-starter for this position.
