Clinic Kennel Cleaning Volunteer

Overview: Volunteers will take part in cleaning and disinfecting the cages from surgical patients and sweeping and mopping the clinic floors.

Prerequisites: Disease control webinar
|
|
Job Duties: - Cleaning dog and cat kennels as needed - Wash and fold laundry - Open syringes - Labeling syringes - Pulling up vaccines - Preparing medications - Putting together e-collars - Refilling cleaning supplies and general restocking - Cleaning windows - Cleaning surgical instruments - Cleaning the autoclave - Cleaning the ultrasonic machine - Cleaning the clinic, vacuuming, sweeping, emptying the garbage.

Days & Hours Needed: Clinic Assistant shifts are currently open and in need of volunteer sign up for Tuesdays 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Requirements: Communicate in a way that demonstrates and promotes collaboration, cooperation, problem solving and interpersonal skills to foster a positive work environment, teamwork, and productivity. Other requirements are as follows:
- Must follow the mission of the APF
- Must attend New Volunteer Orientation
- Knowledge of APF policies and protocols
- Must be able to work safely and respectfully around animals
- Must maintain a positive relationship with all staff, volunteers, and clients
- Must be able to squat and bend, reach, and lift
- Ability to stand for up to two hours at a time
- Able to withstand exposure to animal odors, diseases, possible contagious conditions, bites, scratches, animal waste, and moderate noise levels as well as cleaning chemicals.
