Job Duties: - Use open communication to learn about potential adopters and help find appropriate match - Review animal information with potential adopter - Answer questions that the potential adopter may have to the best of volunteers' ability and knowledge - Update Cat Profile Binder - Ensure cat cage cards are clean, legible, and complete

Requirements: Communicate in a way that demonstrates and promotes collaboration, cooperation, problem solving, and interpersonal skills to foster a positive work environment, teamwork, and productivity. Other requirements are as follows:
- Must follow the mission of the APF
- Must attend the New Volunteer Orientation, Animal Handling training, and Adoption Counselor training
- Knowledge of APF policies and protocols
- Ability to represent the APF in a profession manner in all situations with the public, volunteers, and staff
- Must be observant and communicate effectively
- Must be patient, courteous, outgoing, and able to handle stressful situations when dealing with customers and animals
- Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting protocols
- Must read animal documentation prior to interacting with animal
- Ability to learn and quickly adapt to changes in programs and procedures
- Organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
- Must be able to squat and bend, lift and reach, stand for up to 2 hours, and lift up to 20 lbs
- Able to withstand exposure to animal odors, diseases, possible contagious conditions, bites, scratches, animal waste, moderate noise levels, and cleaning chemicals
- Working knowledge of cat behavior, breeds, diseases, and medical conditions is a plus
- Computer proficiency, willingness to independently learn new technology and skills
