Substitute Volunteer Yoga Instructor
Location: Library 21c
Schedule: Tuesdays 6:00–7:00 p.m. and/or Wednesdays 12:00–1:00 p.m. (as needed)
Time Commitment: Up to two classes per week (0–3 hours total), as needed
Age Requirement: 18+
About the Role:
We are seeking a certified Yoga Instructor to serve as a substitute for library yoga programs when the regular instructor is unavailable. You will teach a one-hour yoga class at Library 21c, with 15 minutes of set up before class, and 15 minutes of clean up after class.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach a one-hour yoga class at Library 21c
• Arrive 15 minutes early for setup and remain 15 minutes after class for cleanup
• Create a comfortable, welcoming environment for all participants
• Lead yoga sessions with proper instruction on postures and alignment
• Modify classes for all ability levels, bodies, minds, and souls as well as create space for difference and invite inclusion.
Qualifications:
• Current Yoga Instructor Certification (required)
• Friendly, welcoming, and inclusive demeanor
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work with patrons of diverse ages, backgrounds, and experience levels
• Dependable, punctual, and flexible to fill in as needed
Preferred (but not required):
• Previous experience teaching group yoga classes
• Experience working in community or public settings
Support Provided:
• Orientation to library policies and expectations
• Ongoing support from library staff
• Clear point of contact for scheduling and program coordination

Reports to Shania Myers, Sr. Library Associate, Library 21c
