Schedule: Wednesdays, 3:30–5:30 PM

Age Requirement: 21+
About the Role:
Do you enjoy math and want to share that passion with students who need a little extra support? Ruth Holley Library is looking for caring and dependable volunteers to serve as Math Tutors during our weekly tutoring program. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and teens by helping them gain confidence and skills in math.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide Math support for grades K-12

Assist with homework questions and explain math concepts in a clear, encouraging way

Adapt to a range of skill levels, from basic arithmetic to high school math
-
Help create a welcoming, respectful, and patient learning environment

Collaborate with library staff and fellow tutors to support students effectively
Time Commitment:
-
Wednesdays from 3:30–5:30 PM
-
Weekly sessions held throughout the school year, starting August 12, 2026. Some variations occur in schedule due to holidays and school breaks.
Qualifications:
-
Must be 18 years or older
-
Enjoy working with children and teens

Comfortable explaining math concepts at various levels (you don’t need to be an expert!)

Patient, supportive, and dependable

Able to communicate clearly and respectfully with students and staff
Preferred (but not required):
-
Previous tutoring or mentoring experience

Familiarity with school math curriculum (grades K–12)
Support Provided:

Orientation and ongoing guidance from library staff
