Community Events - Brisbane Kite Festival - Sunday 23 August 2026
Join us for the Brisbane Kite Festival 2026, a free, family-friendly community event hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Brisbane South East and Carindale! Held at the Tingalpa Model Aero Club, Minnippi Parklands, on Sunday, 23 August 2026, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, this festival features professional kite displays, carnival rides, face painting, food stalls, and a dedicated Kid's Zone.
We need friendly, enthusiastic volunteers across a range of roles to help run the day smoothly:
- BBQ crew: Food safety briefing on arrival, apron and gloves provided.
- Kite stall: Cash float and pricing guide provided at check-in.
- Face painting: Bring your own paints and brushes if possible, non-toxic, festival-safe products required.
- Parking management: Hi-vis vest required, briefing on traffic flow provided on-site.
- General helpers: Report to the volunteer coordinator for task allocation on the day.
No experience is necessary, just bring a positive attitude and willingness to help. Shifts are flexible, so you can volunteer for a few hours or the whole day.
