Rotary Club of Beenleigh Cane Parade and Family Festival
Activity Overview
The Beenleigh Cane Parade and Family Festival is an annual community celebration hosted by the Rotary Club of Beenleigh that honours the town's rich sugarcane history and the wonderful community build since then. The event will take place on Second Saturday in May and features a vibrant afternoon street parade that transitions into a massive family-friendly festival at the Beenleigh Showgrounds
Key Event Highlights:
- The Cane Parade: Colourful floats, marching bands, and local organizations parade through the streets of Beenleigh.
- Festival Activities: The showgrounds event offers live entertainment, food trucks, community stalls, cupcake decorating, face painting, petting zoo and heavily discounted kids' rides (such as train rides, a climbing wall, giant slide and teacup rides).
- Grand Finale: The day usually concludes with an epic laser show in the early evening.
- Beenleigh Cane Gala: As part of the festivities, the community hosts an evening gala on the Third Saturday of May featuring gourmet dining, raffles and auctions, live music and dancing.
The festivities will kick off with the Cane Parade at 3pm on Saturday, 8 May 2027, starting at George Street and finishing on Main Street at the Beenleigh Showgrounds, where the Cane Family Festival will then begin.
To celebrate the magic of the Beenleigh Cane Festival, the Beenleigh Cane Gala will be held at 6pm on Saturday15 May at the Distillery Road Market Precinct. It will feature music, gourmet dining on local produce and dancing, as well as auctions and raffles. Funds raised going to Beenleigh Cane Parade and Gala Ball charity partners. New charity partner selected each year.

Rotary Club of Cleveland Art Show
Overview
The Cleveland Rotary Art Show is a popular local exhibition featuring paintings, photographs, and sculptures from artists across the Redlands. Hosted by the Rotary Club of Cleveland, the weekend event offers art sales, silent auctions, and light refreshments, with proceeds benefiting local charities.
The inaugural Art show took place over the weekend of March 21–22.
Specific details of the annual event (which for this exercise purpose will take place 19-20 March 2027), include:
- Venue: Community Hall, Ormiston Rise Retirement Precinct, 174 Wellington Street, Ormiston.
- Entry & Features: Entry is free to the public. The event showcases works from local talent, features a People's Choice award, and includes special highlights like a silent auction.
- Facilities: Ample street parking is available with a short walk, and golf buggies are provided to transport attendees directly to and from the venue if needed.
- Call to Artists: Local artists and sculptors are invited to submit up to four works, with entry forms typically due in early January.
Key Event Highlights:
- Official Opening: The Official Opening will take pale at Ormiston House on Friday 18 March 2027 providing an opportunity for viewing the Art and meeting the Artists who have displayed their art. There will be light refreshments on the night. The activity is Invitation only but there will be Volunteeropportunities on the night.
- Art Show: The art show will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday. Devonshire Teas, Coffee and Tea and Sandwiches will be available for purchase throughout the day. There is a number of Volunteer Roles for Saturday and Sunday

Rotary Nomads Dalby Show Catering
Activity Overview
1. Volunteering with the Rotary Nomads at the Dalby Show generally involves hands-on help in the main pavilion canteen. Opportunities include food preparation, cooking, serving customers, and cleaning. The Nomads are a travelling Rotary club, and their members frequently rely on volunteer help from both members and other volunteers. There are a number of Volunteer opportunities prior to and during the show. The Dalby show will take place on Friday 9 April and Saturday 10 April 2027. Volunteering opportunities will run from Wednesday 7 April though 11 April 2027
Roles and operations include:
- Food Prep & Cooking: Frying burgers, steak, bacon, eggs and sausages, or assembling sandwiches and hot food.
- Customer Service & Cashier: Taking orders, serving food and drinks, and managing payments.
- Canteen Maintenance: Restocking inventory, wiping down tables, washing dishes, and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy and helping out in the other areas when required
2. There will be provision for Volunteers to bring their caravans with power and water available (at no charge). There is plenty of accommodation within the Dalby CBD for those requiring hotel/motel accommodation for the duration of the activity (at volunteers’ cost).
