Ramona Grasslands County Preserve - Native Tree Planting at Holly Oaks County Park

Looking for a way to get outside and improve your community this upcoming MLK Day? Join us for a Native Tree Planting Event in Holly Oaks County Park!

Tree Planting Party Details:
This all-ages event is perfect for families, friends, and community groups. Under the guidance of our knowledgeable Park Rangers and Department of Parks and Recreation staff, you’ll learn proper tree planting techniques—no experience necessary! Once trained, you'll get hands-on experience by planting native trees that will help improve the park and its habitat for generations to come.

  • 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.

Volunteer Details:

  • All ages welcome; children must be supervised by an adult.
  • For those interested in loading/unloading materials, the ability to lift 30 lbs. or more is essential.
  • Instruction and tools provided.
  • Parking will be in the staging area (that’s what we call parking lots in open space preserves) located on the corner of Dye Rd. and Southern Oak in Ramona, CA.                  https://maps.app.goo.gl/uykVkTPfFRAwfp1i
  • Be prepared to walk about 0.25 to the planting site

What to Bring:

  • Work gloves (some will be provided)
  • Hat & sunscreen
  • Water bottle & snacks
  • Long pants & sturdy, closed-toed shoes
