Patient Engagement in a Lab-Based Co-Mentorship Program

This presentation will share the background and highlight learnings of a co-mentorship program that connected patient partners with graduate trainees at a Cancer Research Institute (Riddell Centre for Cancer Immunotherapy). The session will describe how the program aimed to foster collaboration between laboratory-based trainees and individuals with lived experience, and evidence on how patient engagement can be embedded early in research and sustained and scaled with proper support.
