Cafe Support Volunteers
We are looking for Cafe Volunteers to support with the running of the café, offering a warm and friendly service to customers and visitors of the hospice.

Location: Inpatient Unit, St Wilfrid’s Hospice, 1 Broadwater Way
Suggested Time Commitment: One 4-hour shift per week.
Tasks include:
- Communicating with customers
- Operating cash register, processing card payments, accepting cash payments and issuing change
- To support patients, their visitors or groups using the café, giving an empathetic approach where required, or engage in general conversation
- Assist in re-stocking the café
- Clear tables in the café to kitchen area in order that there is sufficient supply of crockery ready to use
- Clean and sanitise tables ensuring they are suitable for customer use
- Offer assistance to customers either with help carrying trays or getting customers their food items
You will need:
- This is a customer service role so communication skills and friendly positive attitude
- To be resilient and able to work in an environment that can at times, be emotionally challenging
Training and support:
- Full role specific training
- Organisational induction training including a Welcome Day at the hospice
- Ongoing support from Volunteer Manager and the Volunteer Engagement Team
