Community Links Administration Volunteer

We are looking for a volunteer to help connect patients, families, and hospice teams with local groups and services that make a real difference. Keeping resources up to date, sharing information via our noticeboard and webpage and supporting signposting to enhance care and wellbeing for our community 

Location: St Wilfrid’s Hospice, 1 Broadwater Way

 

Suggested time commitment: Flexible, approximately four hours per week on a day and time convenient for both volunteer and Compassionate Communities Lead 

 

Tasks include:  

  • To support our Community Engagement work by:
  • Keeping leaflets and posters for our Community Link (CL) network up to date and looking tidy on the CL noticeboard in the Living Well Hub corridor and in the leaflet holders around the building
  • Replenishing any leaflets when close to running out
  • Updating our CL Resource leaflet folder for our clinical teams to use for signposting those we support to external groups and local organisations
  • Contacting CL organisations/groups to check the leaflets we hold for them are still current and correct
  • Contacting CL organisations/groups to check the information on our Community Links webpage hold for them is still current and correct
  • Requesting new information/leaflets when necessary and documenting any updates on spreadsheet
  • Occasional printing of leaflets 

Task will not include: 

  • Updating our website

You will need…. 

  • Friendly, approachable and professional manner
  • Good communicator, including using telephone and email
  • Organised
  • Happy and able to update spreadsheets
  • To wear a name badge when you are volunteering

Training and support:  

  • Full role specific training 
  • Organisational induction training including an Information Session at the hospice
  • Ongoing support from Volunteer Manager and the Volunteer Engagement Team 

 

What is the Community Links network?

Our Community Links is a network of external organisations based in our local area, including in the towns of Eastbourne, Hailsham, Heathfield, Seaford and Uckfield, and the villages in between. We have built links with these groups to help those we support find extra support in their local community.
