Clinical Stock Support Role

Join our inpatient team and make a real difference. As a volunteer on the inpatient unit you will play a vital role in keeping cupboards and patient rooms fully stocked and organised. Your support ensures supplies are in date and ready when needed, helping the team work efficiently and freeing up nurses to focus on patient care. This behind-the-scenes role has a big impact!

 

Location:  Inpatient Unit, St Wilfrid’s Hospice, 1 Broadwater Way

Suggested Time Commitment: Two to three hours per week.  

 

Tasks include:

  • Checking contents of cupboards on inpatient unit and patient rooms
  • Ensuring each cupboard is fully stocked
  • Ensuring items within cupboard are in date
  • Ensuring items within cupboards rotated  
  • Informing IPU Team Leaders of items which need restocking
  • Helping complete weekly stock order for inpatient unit
  • Updating IPU Team Leaders of any issues following checks

 

You will need….

  • Excellent organisational skills with great attention to detail
  • Confident communicator anticipating interactions with nurses, health care assistants and other clinical team member as well as patients and visitors
  • An ability to work under own initiative whilst also being part of a team

 

Training and support:

  • Full role specific training
  • Organisational induction training including a Welcome Day at the hospice
  • Ongoing support from Volunteer Manager and the Volunteer Engagement Team
