Volunteering Opportunities Currently Active

Covid-19 Volunteers

At this extraordinary time, there is increased and immense pressure on the NHS.  We're looking for people with a range of skills to volunteer to help support our staff and patients.

Volunteer roles currently being made available include

  • Welcome volunteers
  • Housekeeping
  • Estates

These are key roles that will keep the hospital functioning as effectively as possible and we welcome Volunteers to assist.  Training and support will be made available.

Further roles will appear as the Covid-19 situation evolves.

C19 Welcome Volunteers

Welcome Volunteer’s base themselves at the main patient and visitor entrances to the hospital.  Their role is to greet patients and visitors to the hospital and provide directions and information about the hospital departments and services.

Many visitors and patients may be unsure of the hospital environment, so the Welcome Volunteer provides a friendly and supportive introduction to the RUH.  Welcome volunteers are part of the RUH Reception function, so if there are any issues visitors and patients can be referred to the Main Reception desk.

Shifts are morning or afternoon, 5 days a week.
