Sherwood Public Library - Taskets

Description 
Have you discovered the magic of placing holds? So have our patrons! This position sorts, checks-in and shelves the items on reserve for Sherwood Patrons and assists with clearing off the shelves of expired reserved items. Basic computer skills and attention to accuracy is necessary. Lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending are required. Morning and afternoon positions are available.  

Purpose  
To support staff through sorting, checking in and shelving of materials on hold for Sherwood patrons.  

Duties
"Sort incoming materials; process and shelve holds accurately and carefully in alphabetical order
"Confirm materials are all present and not in need of repair
"Review materials for damage or missing pieces
"Scan barcodes on materials
"Stay up to date with changes in procedures
"Ask Questions!

"Must be at least 14 years of age
"Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
"Basic computer skills
"Ability to work independently, but able to freely ask questions of staff
"Willingness to perform repetitive tasks for the duration of a two hour shift
"Ability to bend, pick up and handle books repeatedly and stand for a two hour shift
"Be diligent and committed to established weekly schedule
"Successful completion of training

  • Onboarding - Paperwork Competed & Uploaded Must be Completed
