Volunteer Driver Roles
We can offer two great roles for volunteers who are interested in a role which involves driving.
1) Volunteer Driver Role: Our volunteer drivers can choose to be based at either our Royal Shrewsbury Hospital or Princess Royal Hospital site using either their own vehicle or our pool car to transport patients all over the County. This is a very rewarding role supporting our patients to get home from hospital as quickly as possible.
2) Volunteer Buggy Driver Role: In September 2025, we launched our first Patient Buggy Service at our Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site. Our volunteer buggy drivers transport patients along a designated route between the Treatment Centre and Outpatient Clinics.
Full training is provided along with driving assessments for both roles.
