Floater Volunteer
Floater Volunteer - Position Description
Role:
The Floater Volunteer is responsible for knowing all Volunteer positions within the theatre, and assisting in areas where Volunteers are absent for performances at the FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton (FOACM). This role supports the Duty Supervisor(s) in ensuring adequate Volunteer support is maintained across all roles including: Bartender, Coat Check, Host, Merchandise Seller, Ticket Taker, Usher.
Time Commitment:
- Volunteer a minimum of two (2) shifts per month
- Arrive on site 75 minutes prior to curtain, or as scheduled
Responsibilities:
- Report to volunteer room and check-in with the Duty Supervisor
- Attend pre-show meeting
- Be aware of what activities are taking place within the facility for the specified timeframe
- Ensure awareness of location at which to be stationed as directed by Duty Supervisor
- Assist patrons with inquiries
- Be flexible in terms of assignment for the performance
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must meet requirements of the Town of Milton volunteer program
- Smart Serve Certification (submitted with application or attend course provided)
- Criminal Record Check
- Must be willing to serve/sell and process payments
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads (e.g. cases of beverages)
