Christmas in the Square - Children's Activity Attendant

Join us for Christmas in the Square on November 29^th from 10am - 6pm! This event will include live entertainment, a food and beverage garden including food trucks, children’s activities and an Artisan Fair.

Volunteers are wanted for facilitating art activities for children and families, helping them to create a fun art project.

Date: Sunday, November 29^th, 2026

Times:

• 11:45am - 3:15pm OR
• 3:00pm - 6:15pm

Location: Port Coquitlam Community Centre - Mabbett Hall
2150 Wilson Avenue, Port Coquitlam

Please check in at the Volunteer Check-In Table in the Aquatics Activity Room (across from Wilson Lounge).

Specific volunteer duties will include: Welcoming children and family to the activity area. Helping staff to set up and take down tables, chairs and art supplies. Helping Recreation Leaders lead children through art activities and creating a fun, inclusive atmosphere. 

All Volunteers may end up doing these duties: set up and take down of tables, chairs and barricades, putting up/ taking down signage, providing information and direction, and assisting Events staff as needed.

Working Conditions: This event will run indoors at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre. 

Requirements:

• Minimum of 14 years of age
• Enjoy working independently and as part of a team
• Enjoy working with children and youth
• Experience in events or festivals is an asset
• Fluent in spoken English (fluency in a second language is an asset)
