Party in the Square - Event Ambassador

May Days is celebrating 103rd years! Join us for the Party in the Square, featuring live entertainment, a May Days Market featuring local businesses and artisans, a Community Safety Fair, interactive art activities, beverage garden, food trucks, games and more! 

Volunteers are wanted for a variety of roles, including welcoming visitors to the event, providing information on activities happening throughout the event and providing directions to various activities and facilities.

This role is accessible to volunteers with limited mobility. While we appreciate interest from all volunteers, volunteers with limited mobility will be prioritized for this role.

Date: Saturday, May 9th, 2026

Times:

• 12:45am - 4:45pm OR
• 4:30pm - 8:30pm

Location:

• Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC) - 2150 Wilson Avenue
• Check in at Volunteer Tent, just outside PCCC Courtyard Entrance

Specific volunteer duties will include: Welcoming eventgoers; providing activity schedules and directions to different activities and facilities; directing City-related questions to the City Information booth. 

All Volunteers may end up doing these duties: set up and take down of tables, chairs and barricades, putting up/ taking down signage, providing information and direction, and assisting Special Events staff as needed.

Working Conditions: The Party in the Square will run RAIN OR SHINE. Please dress appropriately for the weather. You may be walking around the event venue and/or sitting at the Info booth. Light snacks will be provided. 

Requirements:

• Minimum of 16 years of age
• Enjoy working independently and as part of a team
• Enjoy engaging with members of the public
• Previous customer service experience is an asset
• Fluent in spoken English (fluency in a second language is an asset)
