Party in the Square - Children's Art Activity Attendant

May Days is celebrating 103rd years! Join us for the Party in the Square, featuring live entertainment, a May Days Market featuring local businesses and artisans, a Community Safety Fair, interactive art activities, beverage garden, food trucks, a carnival and more! 

Volunteers are wanted for a variety of roles, including helping Recreation Leaders guide children and families through a variety of art activities. 

Date: Saturday, May 9th, 2026

Times:

• 12:45pm - 4:45pm OR
• 4:30pm - 8:30pm

Note: Times may be subject to change.

Location:

• Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Avenue)
• Check in at Volunteer Tent, just outside PCCC Courtyard Entrance

Specific volunteer duties will include: Welcoming child and family participants. Helping Recreation Leaders guide participants through arts and crafts activities. 

All Volunteers may end up doing these duties: set up and take down of tables, chairs and barricades, putting up/ taking down signage, providing information and direction, and assisting Special Events staff as needed.

Working Conditions: The Party in the Square will run RAIN OR SHINE. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Snacks will be provided.

Requirements:

•    Minimum of 14 years of age
•    Experience working with children (variety of ages)
•    Knowledge of children’s games and activities
•    Comfortable interacting with the public
•    Fluent in spoken English (fluency in a second language is an asset)
