Kids’ Race Holding Zone Assistant

Assist with the May Day Kids Bike Race. A much-loved event, the Kids’ Race gives children aged 3 to 12 the chance to race the 1.3-km track while being cheered on by enthusiastic spectators. Last year, the May Day Kids’ Race attracted 500 children and was a highlight of the spring festival.

In preparation for the Kids race, assist with engaging Kids’ Race participants in the holding zone and preparing them to move towards the race track.

Time: 9:00am - 11:00am

Location: Downtown Port Coquitlam

Skills, experience, qualifications required:

• Minimum of 16 years of age
• Comfortable greeting and speaking with members of the public
• Able to safely lift 10lbs
• Responsible and caring volunteer
• Safety orientated
• Happy, energetic and engaged
• Enjoys working with children
• Fluent in spoken English (fluency in a second language is an asset)
  

Working Conditions: The May Day Kids Bike Race will run RAIN OR SHINE. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
